Learn exciting new techniques and information at the forefront of scoliosis treatment and research!

Students will also have the opportunity to learn about Level 2 in the Scoliosis and Asymmetry Management Specialization Program – an exciting opportunity to build on the knowledge gained in Level 1, with mentorship and on-site or distance learning options.

Scoliosis and asymmetry management is so much more than merely attempting to press the vertebra back into a straight spine, or pushing on a body part. The imbalances of scoliosis can be likened to a DNA double helix model, where the imbalances run three-dimensionally in a spiral pattern!

The term scoliosis encompasses many crossover issues, conditions and pathologies. In addition, time of life (adolescence, early adulthood and mid-life) as well as gender are addressed in different ways. Asymmetries affect all body types and ages, especially as we grow older and adapt to the stresses of the working world.

Learn the National Institutes of Health’s most common 2 and 3 curve patterns, current theories of pathomechanics and pathophysiology, as well as concrete Pilates mat and apparatus progressions. It’s so important to impart body skills to our clients, not just exercises, skills which will last a lifetime.
